UConn Beats DePaul 81-68 Behind Solo Ball’s 22 Points

No. 11 UConn extended its winning streak to seven games with an 81-68 victory over DePaul on Wednesday. Junior guard Solo Ball scored a season-high 22 points, including seven three-pointers, and Alex Karaban added 18 points for the Huskies.

DePaul, which has now lost 19 consecutive games against UConn, struggled from beyond the arc, making just three of 12 shots. The Blue Demons did manage to close the gap to 61-52 with a 7-0 run in the second half, but UConn’s defense eventually took over.

The Huskies’ Jayden Ross blocked a Troy D’Amico layup attempt before Karaban made a big three-pointer for the team. Solo Ball then responded with a three-point shot to make it 70-54 with just 6:14 remaining.

UConn’s Hassan Diarra had nine assists and one turnover, while DePaul’s Conor Enright contributed 18 points and nine assists. The Huskies outshot DePaul from beyond the arc, making 14 of 29 three-point attempts compared to the Blue Demons’ three of 12.

The Huskies will look to continue their winning streak when they host Providence on Sunday.
