UFC 315’s Welterweight division has been turned on its head by a series of recent announcements. Originally scheduled to face Kazakh phenom Shavkat Rakhmonov for the title, Belal Muhammad will now face Australian boxer Jack Della Maddalena instead.
The bout between “JDM” and Muhammad is set to headline UFC 315, taking place on May 10, 2025, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The event has also seen a co-main event featuring Valentina Shevchenko’s title defense against French striker Manon Fiorot.
Muhammad won the title back in July, earning a clear-cut decision over Leon Edwards. He is now undefeated in his last 12 fights. Della Maddalena, meanwhile, is undefeated inside the Octagon and has won seven straight to start his UFC career.
The event also features Michael Morales’ highly anticipated bout against Gilbert Burns. Morales, from Ecuador, boasts five straight wins and a knockout victory over Neil Magny. The matchup was previously scheduled for Miami but was relocated to UFC 315.
Additionally, Zhang Weili’s next move remains uncertain as she faces an opportunity against the winner of Muhammad vs. Della Maddalena.
