UFC legend Randy Couture was airlifted to a burn center after a crash during practice runs at a Kansas City racetrack. The 62-year-old fighter and Army veteran sustained first- and second-degree burns, trauma injuries, and smoke inhalation. It’s unclear what caused the accident.
Couture was set to make his National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) racing debut this year and had been practicing in the pro stock division. He recently completed his licensing process and was looking forward to competing sometime in 2025.
Despite the severity of his injuries, Couture is expected to recover. The accident occurred during preparation for his upcoming race campaign, which he announced months ago. Couture expressed his excitement about joining the NHRA, saying he would bring his competitive spirit from wrestling and martial arts into the sport.
