The UFC has signed a new billion-dollar rights deal with Paramount, which will see all its content available on the streaming platform Paramount+. The seven-year deal is worth an average of $1.1 billion per year and includes all cards on the platform, as well as select numbered events simulcasting on CBS.
UFC CEO Dana White said he was impressed by Paramount’s vision for the UFC and described them as “brilliant businessmen” who are willing to take risks. The deal marks a significant increase from the $550 million ESPN paid each year for UFC coverage today.
White also confirmed that the UFC will explore rights outside of the US in the future, with plans to launch new shows on platforms like CBS. However, some details remain unclear, including how the company’s existing shows like “The Ultimate Fighter” and “Dana White’s Contender Series” will be affected by the new deal.
White expressed optimism about the potential for the UFC to become the biggest fight game in the world, surpassing other sports leagues. He stated that the organization is committed to increasing revenue through its partnerships with major brands like Paramount and increasing fighter pay.
The new deal comes just days after Skydance and Paramount announced an $8 billion merger, which marks a significant shift in the entertainment industry. White described the partnership as “up my alley,” suggesting a strong working relationship between the two parties.
