UFC Vegas 104 Weigh-In Snafus: Weight Misses and Fines

Three fighters initially missed weight at Friday’s official weigh-ins for UFC Vegas 104, including a debuting prospect who tipped the scales by nearly five pounds. Diyar Nurgozhay, an undefeated light heavyweight, failed to make weight for his main card bout against Brendson Ribeiro, weighing in at 210.5 pounds, 4.5 pounds over the limit.

However, one fighter, Josias Musasa, returned and made weight in a second attempt, alleviating some of the concerns surrounding Saturday’s preliminary card bouts. Meanwhile, Chidi Njokuani was also fined an undisclosed amount after failing to make weight by 1.25 pounds.

The morning’s other notable weight miss belonged to Diyar Nurgozhay, who was subsequently fined 25% of his purse for his botched cut. Middleweight headliners Marvin Vettori and Roman Dolidze both tipped in at the legal limit, making their non-title rematch official.

A total of 23% of Saturday’s 13-fight card had weight-related caveats due to missed weigh-ins, but the affected bouts will proceed as planned.
