UK game studio 10:10 Games has laid off 20 employees following the commercial and critical failure of its debut title, Funko Fusion. Sources claim management prioritized a quick closure over providing meaningful severance support, leaving staff with only “the bare minimum” entitlement, including payment of unused holiday.
Colleagues were reportedly pressured into using up all their leave before the announcement to avoid receiving layoff notices. Some staff even had to attend meetings about their future while on holiday in different timezones. Despite management’s claims of being open to suggestions and feedback, no changes have been implemented, according to a source.
The studio’s struggles are part of a broader trend, with around 900 developers having lost their jobs across the games industry by 2025 alone.
