Ukraine’s Air Force reported on Sunday that it shot down 60 Russian attack drones overnight from Saturday to Sunday. The drones were targeted in various locations, including Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, and Donetsk.
The attacks came after a day of large-scale shelling on the frontline area of Donetsk. The town of Bilytske was hit by at least four explosions, damaging a petrol station and two nearby residential buildings. Two houses also caught fire as a result of the strike.
According to Ukrainian authorities, at least 132 people, including 12 children, were evacuated from Donetsk due to the shelling. Russian troops had previously shelled the settlements 20 times over throughout Saturday, killing one person in the village of Hryshyne.
The situation remains tense on the eastern front, with Russian forces advancing towards Pokrovsk and Kurakhove. Russia’s Ministry of Defence claimed it captured three settlements in the eastern Donbass region over the past week. Ukraine reported significant losses to its army, including 2,835 personnel, 30 tanks, and 122 armoured combat vehicles.
