Ukraine’s military launched a precision strike at a Russian command post in the Kursk region on Thursday, targeting Russia’s ability to carry out terrorist acts against Ukrainian civilians. According to Ukraine’s General Staff, the attacks aim to minimize harm to civilians.
In response, Russia launched multiple missile and drone attacks towards Ukraine overnight, including ballistic missiles on Chernihiv and dozens of drones, including Iranian-designed Shahed drones, in Kherson, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions. Russian forces also targeted Ukraine’s Kharkiv region with strikes that damaged local infrastructure but did not harm civilians.
At least one person was killed in a strike on the outskirts of Chernihiv, while four others were injured. In addition, at least four people were killed and six others injured after Russia launched its drone attack in Kherson.
