Ukraine has targeted industrial plants in Russia’s Tatarstan region with drones, according to reports from Ukrainian officials and Russian media. The attacks occurred around 1,000 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, with at least two regional airports grounding flights due to the drone strikes.
The Tatarstan government claimed that the attacks were neutralized without causing any injuries or damage, while Ukraine’s disinformation countermeasures center described explosions in the capital city of Kazan as part of a larger effort to disrupt Russia’s skies. Russian officials said their air defense systems shot down 31 Ukrainian drones targeting industrial sites across five regions.
Meanwhile, The Moscow Times reported that it has been designated an “undesirable” organization by Russia’s Prosecutor General’s Office, which aims to silence independent journalism in the country. The publication is seeking support from readers to continue its work.
