Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has revealed that the Russian truck drivers who transported platforms for a surprise drone attack on Russian warplanes last week were unaware of their role. The operation, which used Ukrainian weapons only, targeted Russian airfields and damaged billions of dollars worth of military hardware.
According to a source, the drones were hidden in “mobile houses” with retractable roofs that were loaded onto trucks before being opened remotely to conduct the attack. Zelenskyy said the drivers simply did their job without knowing about the clandestine equipment on board.
The attack, which took place last week, damaged over 40 Russian bombers, accounting for approximately one-third of Russia’s strategic bomber fleet. Ukraine claimed that its secret services used only home-made weapons and didn’t rely on equipment from an allied nation.
Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of maintaining clear separation between Ukrainian and foreign weaponry, stating his preference for using only domestically produced arms.
