UNC Football Adds First High School Recruit Under Bill Belichick’s Leadership

UNC football coach Bill Belichick has secured his first high school recruit for the 2025 season, with East Forsyth quarterback Bryce Baker committing to the Tar Heels. Baker, a four-star prospect, had previously committed to UNC in 2023 but re-evaluated after former head coach Mack Brown’s firing.

Baker joins an already strong 2025 recruiting class, bringing the total number of commits to eight players. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound quarterback boasts impressive stats, including a 74.7% completion rate and 40 touchdowns in his final prep season.

Belichick has emphasized the importance of recruiting nationally, not just targeting in-state players. “North Carolina is a national university,” he said during an introductory press conference. “Any kid that wants a good education, be in a good football program, be at a great campus… we’ll recruit any kid to come here.”

The signing marks a significant milestone for Belichick, who aims to build a strong recruiting class under his leadership. With Baker on board, UNC fans are optimistic about the team’s future prospects.
