UNCW Alum Wins Doritos Crash the Super Bowl Contest with ‘Abduction’

UNC Wilmington alumnus Dylan Bradshaw ’19 took home the top prize in this year’s Doritos Crash the Super Bowl contest for his film “Abduction”. A commercial about an alien attempting to steal a bag of Doritos from a person studying UFOs, it was one of 2,000 submissions selected by a panel as a top three finalist before being voted on by the public.

Bradshaw collaborated with best friend Nate Norell and drew inspiration from Steven Spielberg and George Lucas. Since graduation, he has worked with notable figures such as Tom Brady, Terry Crews, and Charli D’Amelio. As an alumnus of UNCW’s film studies program, Bradshaw credits his professors for giving him the confidence to pursue his dreams.

The commercial will air during Super Bowl LIX on February 9th and comes with a $1 million prize. The event is expected to draw over 100 million viewers nationally on Fox. This victory marks a notable achievement for UNCW’s film studies department, with department chair Tim Palmer expressing pride in Bradshaw’s accomplishment.
