A University of North Carolina Wilmington graduate has won a major prize after his commercial for Doritos aired during the Super Bowl. Dylan Bradshaw, who graduated in 2019 with a degree in Film Studies, was one of three finalists chosen from over 2,000 submissions.
Bradshaw’s commercial, titled “Abduction,” tells the story of a computer hacker fighting a UFO tractor beam to protect his bag of Doritos before sharing some snacks with an alien. The concept is inspired by science fiction films like “Star Wars” and “Close Encounters of the Third Kind.”
Bradshaw won a $1 million prize after his commercial was chosen in an online vote, along with his co-creator Nate Norell. They appeared on “The Today Show” to celebrate their win, where they hugged and cheered when learning the news.
