UNFI Security Breach Disrupts Grocery Store and Pharmacy Operations

A security breach at United Natural Foods (UNFI), a major grocery store distributor, is affecting operations at some stores and pharmacies across the country. The company announced that it has taken steps to address the issue, including disabling certain systems and notifying law enforcement.

As of Monday morning, UNFI stated that it had identified unauthorized activity in its systems and was working with forensic experts to investigate. The company assured customers, suppliers, and associates that they are their top priority and are taking steps to minimize disruptions.

Later in the day, UNFI revealed that some pharmacies are experiencing issues filling prescriptions, with half of its locations still operational. Affected pharmacies can fill existing prescriptions, but new or refill requests are not being accepted. Customers are advised to visit another local pharmacy retailer for these services. The company is working to restore its systems and bring them back online as soon as possible.
