A United Airlines Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner made an emergency landing at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport after experiencing a medical issue on board. The flight, UA32, departed Los Angeles bound for Tokyo Narita but turned back over the Pacific Ocean and diverted to Seattle.

The aircraft, N29978 (MSN66137), is one of 45 active Boeing 787-9s in United’s fleet, with an average age of 6.7 years. The flight was scheduled to continue on to Tokyo but instead was sent back to Los Angeles after the emergency landing.

According to AirLive, a medical emergency involving an injured flight attendant was the reason for the emergency landing. However, details about the nature of the injury are not yet available. The passengers affected by the delay were reassigned to a later flight to Tokyo.
