The probe, which previously focused on possible Medicare fraud, has expanded to examine business practices at Optum Rx, UnitedHealth’s pharmacy benefit manager, and how it pays its physicians. Despite the investigation, UnitedHealth maintains “full confidence” in its practices, according to the company.
