UnitedHealth Group (UNH) is set to report its second-quarter earnings on July 29. Analysts expect the company’s earnings per share to be around $5.08, down from $6.80 in the previous year. Revenue is projected at $111 billion, slightly higher than the first quarter.
Investors are focusing on two key metrics: the medical care ratio and operating cost ratio. The medical care ratio rose to 84.8% in the first quarter, while the operating cost ratio improved to 12.4%. Analysts will be watching for signs of further efficiency gains.
The company also plans to sell its Latin American business Banmedica for $1 billion, a move aimed at strengthening capital allocation and offsetting cost pressures.
Analysts have set a one-year price target of $375.46, implying a potential upside of 30.34% from the current share price of $288.07.
