UnitedHealthcare has appointed Tim Noel as its new CEO following the tragic death of Brian Thompson in a shooting. Noel, a seasoned executive with a career spanning over two decades at the company, will lead effective immediately. He served as head of Medicare and retirement services since 2007, bringing extensive experience from his tenure at Northwest Airlines during bankruptcy restructuring.

Thompson, who was CEO of UnitedHealthcare since 2004, was shot and killed in a suspected targeted attack on midtown Manhattan. Luigi Mangione, 26, has been charged with multiple counts, including first-degree murder, second-degree murder, and weapon possession, among others.
