Comcast NBCUniversal’s themed entertainment division, Universal Destinations & Experiences, is expanding its year-round horror experience, Universal Horror Unleashed, to the Midwest with a new location in Chicago. The indoor venue will be located on Chicago Avenue and marks Universal’s first branded experience in the region.
“Universal Horror Unleashed delivers on our promise to create highly immersive and terrifying horror experiences that connect with fans year-round,” said Page Thompson, President of New Ventures. “We’re excited to bring this bold concept to life in Chicago, a city known for its vibrant culture.”
The new venue combines Universal’s expertise in the horror genre with next-level storytelling to deliver an unforgettable experience. Guests can expect immersive entertainment, terrifying environments, and unforgettable scares, as well as themed food and beverage offerings.
This is part of Universal Destinations & Experiences’ broader growth strategy to reach new audiences through new markets and concepts. Other recent developments include the opening of Universal Epic Universe in Orlando and the upcoming launch of Universal Horror Unleashed Las Vegas in 2025.
The first Universal Horror Unleashed location will open later this year in Las Vegas, with tickets already on sale at UniversalHorrorUnleashed.com. The new Chicago venue is set to open soon, marking an exciting addition to the Universal Horror Unleashed brand.
