US Air Force Targets Tesla Cybertrucks for Destruction

The US Air Force is seeking 33 vehicles for target practice, including unique models like the Mazda Bongo and Tesla Cybertruck. The military aims to test its “Standoff Precision Guided Munition” system in real-world scenarios.

Specifically, the US Air Force wants the Tesla Cybertruck due to its distinctive design, which sets it apart from other vehicles with painted steel or aluminum bodies. The agency notes that the Cybertruck’s stainless steel exoskeleton makes it a suitable target for testing.

In contrast, the Mazda Bongo is included in the list because of its rugged and versatile nature, making it a practical choice for testing purposes.

Other vehicles sought by the US Air Force include saloons, SUVs, and pickups. The military will accept some damage to the Cybertrucks, but requires the removal of the battery before destruction.
