US Air Raids Hit Yemen’s Sanaa, Killing at Least One Person

US forces have launched air raids on the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, killing at least one person and injuring 13 others in a western suburb. The strike was part of Washington’s renewed campaign against the Iran-aligned Houthi group.

The Houthis claim that US air raids have been ongoing for days and nights across multiple locations in Yemen, with the group stating that key Houthi leadership has been targeted, including the head of their missile programme.

However, the Houthis dispute this claim, saying it is a “complete lie and slander”. They maintain that US attacks are targeting residential neighbourhoods and innocent civilians, resulting in civilian casualties.

The strikes have also affected other parts of Yemen, including the Red Sea port city of Hodeidah, Marib province, and sites around Saada. Some social media accounts reported unverified claims of Houthis attacking US naval vessels, although these were not confirmed by officials.

The conflict has resulted in a significant disruption to global shipping, with many US-flagged vessels forced to take longer routes due to the Houthi threat.
