Residential solar company Sunnova Energy International Inc. filed for bankruptcy this week, following Solar Mosaic LLC’s Chapter 11 filing last week. Solar Mosaic was one of the largest lenders in the rooftop solar market.
These bankruptcies signal a growing concern about the long-term viability of the US clean energy industry. The sector’s future is uncertain, and investors are taking note.
