US Defence Secretary’s Plane Lands in UK Due to Cracked Windscreen

US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth’s plane made an unexpected landing in the UK after a crack appeared in its windshield during flight from Nato’s Defence Minister meeting in Belgium. According to the Pentagon, everyone on board, including Hegseth, is safe and unharmed. The incident occurred as the plane was returning to the US, but it started losing altitude over southwest Ireland before heading back east. The plane’s emergency transponder was activated, indicating a general emergency. This is not the first time a government plane has been forced to make an unscheduled landing due to a cracked windshield – Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s plane had to do so in February.
