A Houston-based energy company, Enterprise Products Partners LP, has received a notice from the US Department of Commerce that its proposed ethane export licenses to China will be denied. The cargo in question contains approximately 2.2 million barrels of ethane and is one of three shipments that were initially approved for export. With up to 20 days to respond, Enterprise must now decide whether to appeal the decision or alter its plans. This development comes as the Trump administration has taken a tougher stance on securing exports to China in light of national security concerns.
