The US General Services Administration (GSA) has partnered with OpenAI to provide the entire federal workforce with free access to ChatGPT Enterprise for a year, starting at $1 per agency. This partnership aims to make powerful AI tools available across the federal government, reducing paperwork and red tape.
The initiative is part of the Trump administration’s AI Action Plan, which focuses on making AI accessible to public servants. The goal is to help government workers spend more time serving the American people rather than dealing with administrative tasks.
OpenAI has already seen positive results from its pilot programs, including a 95-minute daily savings for Pennsylvania employees using ChatGPT and an 85% positive experience rate in North Carolina’s Department of State Treasurer pilot.
As part of this partnership, OpenAI will provide:
– Universal access to ChatGPT Enterprise at $1 per agency
– Unlimited use of advanced models and features for an additional 60 days
– Educational tools and training through the OpenAI Academy and partner-led sessions
– Custom training platforms to help employees explore AI capabilities
– Security and compliance measures, including a GSA-issued Authority to Use (ATU)
This initiative aims to bring the benefits of AI to everyone by providing public servants with powerful, secure tools to solve problems and serve the public.
