US Flu Season Sees Spike in Hospitalizations and Deaths

The US is experiencing a surge in flu cases, with nearly a dozen schools closed and hospitals overwhelmed in some states. According to CDC data, at least 24 million reported cases, 310,000 hospitalizations, and 13,000 deaths have been attributed to this season’s flu outbreak. Notably, 57 of these deaths were children. The flu season began in October and continues to worsen, with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention releasing the latest data on Friday.
