US Food Agency Recalls Liquid Eggs Due to Cleaning Solution

The US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a recall on over 212,000 pounds of liquid egg products produced by Cargill Kitchen Solutions in Michigan due to the presence of cleaning solution made with sodium hypochlorite. The affected products include Egg Beaters and Bob Evans Better’n Eggs, sold at grocery stores and food service locations across eight states.

Consumers can identify the recalled products by checking their packaging for specific labeling information, including a use-by date or an establishment number “G1804”. If you have any of these products, do not consume them. Instead, dispose of them immediately or return them to the place of purchase for a refund or replacement.

FSIS has investigated and found no adverse health consequences from ingesting the cleaning solution, but still recommends caution. For further information, contact Cargill Kitchen Solutions directly at 1-844-419-1574 or [email protected].
