The US, Hamas, and Israel have made a breakthrough in their negotiations over a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip. A handwritten note from Qatar’s prime minister to Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff urged them to push for concessions from Israel. The two sides more or less split the difference on territory control, with Israel holding onto much more than Hamas wanted but agreeing to pull out of built-up areas.
