US Homeland Secy. Noem Visits Central America, Announces Efforts to Deport Migrant Criminals

US Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem is set to visit several countries in Central America next week, including El Salvador’s Terrorism Confinement Center. The trip aims to strengthen cooperation between the US and these countries to remove violent criminal aliens from the region.

Noem will meet with Salvadoran officials, including President Nayib Bukele, to discuss ways to combat organized crime and deport migrant criminals. According to Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin, Noem’s visit highlights the importance of partner countries in helping to remove violent criminals from the US.

Noem plans to tour the Terrorist Confinement Center on March 26, meet with President Bukele later that day, and visit Colombia on March 27. She will conclude her trip by meeting with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum on March 28.

The visit comes after El Salvador released footage of hundreds of illegal aliens being deported to the country last weekend. The US has since deported over 261 migrant criminals, including Venezuelans and MS-13 gang members, under the Alien Enemies Act of 1798.
