US Invests $8.9 Billion in Intel for Domestic Chip Manufacturing Boost

The US government has secured nearly 10% of Intel’s shares as part of an unorthodox deal aimed at reviving the struggling chipmaker and bolstering domestic production. Funding for this investment comes from grants awarded under the US Chips and Science Act and Secure Enclave program, which were previously extended but had not been paid yet.
