Iran has agreed to accept some limits on uranium enrichment in talks with the US, but wants guarantees that President Donald Trump will not abandon a new nuclear pact. The second round of talks is set for Rome on Saturday, following positive discussions last week in Oman. Iran will not halt all enrichment or dismantle centrifuges, as demanded by the US. Tehran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has set “red lines” that cannot be compromised, including maintaining its centrifuge program and missile activities. The talks aim to find common ground between Iran’s readiness to cooperate with international bodies and Washington’s desire for assurances on Trump’s commitment to the deal.
