US Offers Iran Nuclear Deal Proposal, Urges Quick Response

US President Donald Trump has confirmed that the US has offered a nuclear deal proposal to Iran, calling on the country to accept it quickly. The proposal is part of Trump’s efforts to resolve the Iranian nuclear crisis through diplomacy or military force.

The Trump administration gave Iran a proposal for a nuclear deal earlier this week, but details of the offer have not been made public. White House envoy Steve Witkoff presented the proposal to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Saturday in Rome, where talks also took place with Israeli officials.

Araghchi responded by saying that Iran has not received any written proposal from the US or its Omani mediators and claimed that the messaging is “confusing and contradictory”. He stated that if the US respects Iran’s rights and lifts sanctions, a nuclear deal can be reached.

Trump set a two-month deadline for negotiations with Iran and ordered a build-up of US military forces in the Middle East in case diplomacy fails. The talks took place amidst debate within the Trump administration over whether diplomacy or military strikes are more likely to prevent Tehran from obtaining a bomb.
