US Open Wild Card Winners Announced

The US Open has announced its 2023 wild card recipients, including six Americans and two Australians. Nishesh Basavareddy, currently ranked No. 109 in the PIF ATP Rankings, will make his main-draw debut at Flushing Meadows this year. Other Americans to receive a wild card include Brandon Holt, Tristan Boyer, Emilio Nava, Stefan Dostanic, and Darwin Blanch. Australian Tristan Schoolkate and Valentin Royer will also join them in the main draw.

Holt, the son of former WTA World No. 1 Tracy Austin, achieved his first ATP Tour match win this year after qualifying for the ATP 250 in Mallorca. Dostanic earned a wild card by winning the men’s singles title at American Collegiate Wild Card Playoffs, while Nava received his through winning the US Open Wild Card Challenge.

The US Open has also awarded qualifying wild cards to several players, including Andres Martin and Tyler Zink. This year’s main draw will feature 16 wild-card recipients from the United States, Australia, and other countries. The winners will compete alongside top-ranked players in the men’s singles tournament, marking their first Grand Slam appearance for some of them.
