A sophisticated Chinese hacking operation known as “Salt Typhoon” has targeted former US President Donald Trump, his running mate Sen. JD Vance of Ohio, Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign staff, and members of Congress. The hackers allegedly collected sensitive audio and text messages from these individuals in a wide-ranging espionage operation that began several months ago.
