The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued two separate recalls for pork products in four states. The first recall affects Oklahoma shoppers who purchased Ralph’s Circle R brand ready-to-eat bologna due to a milk allergen not listed on the packaging. Over 3,000 pounds of the product have been recalled.
Ralph’s Packing Company is recalling the meat because it may still be present in some people and establishments’ refrigerators or freezers after production began in September 2022. Consumers can identify the recalled bologna by looking for the establishment number EST. 51557 inside the USDA mark of inspection and specific lot codes.
The second recall affects Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania retailers and restaurants selling Impero Foods & Meats, Inc.’s Old World Italian Sausage due to a lack of federal inspection. Over 7,000 pounds of raw pork sausage have been recalled from Baltimore-based company Impero Food & Meats, Inc.
Consumers are urged not to consume the products if they have a milk allergy or sensitivity. The recalls are for misbranding errors and not due to any inherent safety issues with the products.
