US Postal Service Raises Stamp Prices July 13

The United States Postal Service (USPS) will raise prices for its Forever stamps and other products on Sunday, July 13. The price increase is expected to be 5 cents, making the new cost of a Forever stamp $78 cents.

According to USPS Senior Public Relations Representative Marti Johnson, the price adjustments are needed to achieve financial stability as part of the organization’s “Delivering for America” 10-year plan. This move will also increase mailing service product prices by 7.4%.

The changes include an increase in prices for domestic postcards ($2.56 to $3.62), letters (69 cents to 74 cents), and international postcards ($1.65 to $1.70). Additionally, the price of sending a single letter by air will rise from 28 cents to 29 cents.

USPS had previously confirmed that the commission had approved a price increase, but Johnson attributed it to prudent pricing implementation rather than a major overhaul. The new prices will bring costs closer to those of other comparable foreign postal services.
