US Secretary of State Marco Rubio recently traveled to Brussels, Belgium from April 2-4, where he attended key meetings with NATO Foreign Ministers and allies.
During his visit, Secretary Rubio discussed pressing issues with various partners, including a shared threat posed by China. He also touched upon plans for this summer’s The Hague Summit.
Rubio met with several foreign ministers, including those of Malaysia, Denmark, and Belgium. His engagements included a call with Malaysian Foreign Minister Mohamad, a meeting with Danish Foreign Minister Rasmussen, and a discussion with Belgian Prime Minister De Wever.
In addition to these meetings, Rubio attended a NATO session with the Indo-Pacific Partners, where he emphasized the importance of cooperation against China’s growing threat.
The US Secretary of State also issued joint statements with key allies on various issues, including a response to the Myanmar earthquake and a trilateral meeting between the US, Japan, and Republic of Korea in Brussels.
Rubio’s meetings were part of an extensive public schedule, which included a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte before his engagements.
