US Secretary Rubio Meets with Egyptian Foreign Minister Abdelatty

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty today, reaffirming the importance of the US-Egypt partnership in promoting regional peace and security.

The two officials discussed several key issues, including Egypt’s efforts to mediate hostage releases and humanitarian assistance deliveries in Gaza. The Secretary thanked the Foreign Minister for these efforts and emphasized the need for close cooperation on post-conflict planning for Gaza’s governance and security.

Rubio and Abdelatty also addressed developments in Syria, focusing on inclusive governance and preventing terrorism. They discussed pressing Sudanese belligerents to end hostilities and expand humanitarian access. Additionally, they touched upon Egypt’s water security concerns.
