US Strikes Yemen, Kills Houthi Missile Expert or Claims

US President Donald Trump has announced that Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthis have been “decimated” by recent US strikes. However, the military has declined to confirm this, citing a lack of independent confirmation.

The White House claims that one of the top missile experts was killed in the strikes, but officials are unsure if this is true. The US military has not publicly confirmed the death or revealed the identity of the commander in question.

National Security Adviser Mike Waltz made public remarks about the strike, stating that the first target was a Houthi “head missileer.” However, the Pentagon has not publicly acknowledged this claim.

The strikes are intended to pressure the Houthis into stopping their attacks on shipping in the Red Sea. The group has carried out over 100 such attacks since Israel’s war with Hamas began late last year.

Experts say that the US strikes may be more intense than those under President Joe Biden, but it is unclear whether they will succeed in making the Houthis submit to pressure.
