The Trump administration is planning to charge investors multibillions of dollars for helping negotiate a deal with China to control TikTok’s U.S. operations, as part of a larger trend of lucrative government-private sector agreements. President Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping have approved a preliminary framework for the agreement.
