US to End Taxpayer Subsidies for Unreliable Energy Sources

President Trump has issued an executive order aimed at ending subsidies for unreliable and foreign-controlled energy sources. The move is part of a broader effort to promote energy dominance, national security, economic growth, and fiscal health.

The order aims to rapidly eliminate market distortions caused by “green” energy subsidies, which have been criticized for displacing affordable domestic energy sources and compromising the electric grid. It also targets supply chains controlled by foreign adversaries, making the US dependent on them.

Key provisions of the order include:

– Eliminating tax credits for wind and solar facilities
– Strengthening the repeal of “green” energy tax credits in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act
– Ending taxpayer support for unaffordable and unreliable “green” energy sources

The Department of the Treasury is tasked with enforcing these changes within 45 days, while the Department of the Interior will review regulations to ensure they do not provide preferential treatment to wind and solar facilities.

Reports on the implementation of this order are due to be submitted to the President by the Secretaries of Treasury and Interior within 45 days.
