The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has issued a public health alert over possible contamination of ground beef with E. coli, affecting one-pound vacuum-packed packages sold at Whole Foods Market locations nationwide. The affected product was produced on May 22 and 23 this year.
The contaminated beef was distributed to several states, including Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, and Maryland. However, since the products are no longer available for purchase, a recall has not been requested.
Despite no confirmed reports of illness linked to the alert, consumers concerned about potential health risks should contact their healthcare provider. The USDA’s inspection number for these products is EST. 4027.
