The United States Women’s National Team (USWNT) has named its starting XI for the highly anticipated matchup against Japan at the 2025 SheBelieves Cup, presented by Visa. The team made 10 changes from its previous lineup, which faced Australia on February 23.
Goalkeeper Jane Campbell will earn her tenth career cap and start in goal, becoming the 18th goalkeeper in U.S. history to reach double figures in caps. Defender Tara McKeown will also make her third career start, having previously started against Colombia in the tournament opener.
Midfielder Ally Sentnor, who was named the 2024 U.S. Soccer Young Female Player of the Year, will earn her fifth career cap and second start, scoring her first career goal against Colombia on February 20.
Forward Lindsey Heaps returns to the lineup after sitting out the previous match, earning her 163rd career cap and 36th captaincy for the USWNT. Forward Catarina Macario starts in front of her hometown crowd in San Diego, California, marking her first appearance for the team in the city since emigrating from Brazil at the age of 12.
The lineup features several players making their second career start, including defender Lily Yohannes and midfielder Sam Coffey. The match is broadcast live on TBS, Universo, Max, Peacock, and radio broadcast will be available on Westwood One Sports.
