The University of Vanderbilt was awarded the top overall seed in the NCAA baseball tournament, marking the Commodores’ second time holding the distinction since 2007. This achievement comes after a remarkable stretch, with Vanderbilt winning eight straight games and 13 of its last 16. As part of the record-breaking 13 teams from the Southeastern Conference (SEC) selected to participate in the 64-team field, the tournament will begin on Friday with 16 double-elimination regionals. The top four seeded teams – including Vanderbilt – are favored to host super regionals if they secure their regional victories.
