Vegas Performers Struggle Amid Pandemic-Induced Decline in Tourism

Lexa Paige, a Las Vegas Strip entertainer and singer, is facing financial challenges as the Entertainment Capital struggles with fewer visitors due to the pandemic. With shows forced to close and pay cuts implemented, Paige recently lost thousands of dollars in a crypto scam, leaving her family vulnerable.

Paige’s situation highlights the impact on local performers, many of whom are struggling to make ends meet. Tourists are keeping their spending low-key, skipping entertainment options or opting for free activities instead. “Everything was so expensive, and it just feels as though out here they capitalize on every little thing,” said Amiyah, a visitor from New Jersey.

Local resorts, however, remain optimistic about the future. Maurice Wooden, President of Fontainebleau Las Vegas, stated that his resort is preparing for a busy fall and winter season, supported by major sports and entertainment events. Despite current challenges, Las Vegas remains a strong destination, with hotel occupancy rates indicating market strength.
