Arc System Works has released the Venom gameplay trailer for Guilty Gear Strive, a new character that will be playable on March 24, 2025. Initially delayed to ensure the best gaming experience, Venom’s release date marks an exciting development for fans.
The new character features a unique set of abilities and animations, drawing inspiration from other characters in the series. In gameplay, Venom uses his billiard balls as projectiles and wields his weapon as a pool cue to position them on screen.
According to Guilty Gear Strive producer Ken Miyauchi, frame data will be available in training mode by May 2025, while ranked match updates are planned for June to August this year. The update will allow players to bypass online lobbies and rank characters based on points earned from playing ranked matches. Seven ranks will be introduced.
Following Venom’s release, two new original characters – Unika and Lucy from Cyberpunk Edgerunners – will join the game in May and summer 2025, respectively, for Season 4 of Guilty Gear Strive. A trial period for Unika is set to begin at Evo Japan 2025 from May 9th to 11th.
