Verizon has prematurely released its changelog for the upcoming July 2025 Pixel update, providing an early preview. However, Google has yet to release any information as of Thursday morning.
According to the email sent to Pixel 6a owners, the update is expected to roll out on Tuesday, July 8. The software version/build number appears to be accurate, but the Android Security Patch Level listed as “June 2025” may be a mistake.
The changelog reveals two major improvements: smoother visual experiences in apps like Android Auto and improved Wi-Fi connectivity stability and performance in certain conditions. This is the first patch update to Android 16, with another expected in August before the QPR1 release with the Material 3 Expressive redesign.
Notably, there are no mentions of a Pixel Watch update this month, which should arrive in September unless Google identifies pressing Wear OS fixes. The early leak highlights the potential for Verizon to be one of the first carriers to receive the new software updates ahead of the general public.
