Video Shows Aid Workers Killed by Israeli Fire Despite Clear Identification as Medics

A video has surfaced showing an aid convoy, clearly marked with Red Crescent symbols and flashing emergency lights, being attacked by Israeli troops in Gaza, contradicting Israel’s version of events. The footage, obtained by The New York Times, captures the intense gunfire that killed at least 15 aid workers, including paramedics and rescue personnel.

According to officials from the Palestine Red Crescent Society, the video shows the ambulances and fire truck were traveling towards Israeli troops with their emergency signals turned on, as is customary in such situations. However, Israel claims the vehicles were “advancing suspiciously” without headlights or emergency signals.

The UN Security Council has been briefed on the video, which contradicts Israel’s account of events. The Palestine Red Crescent Society said that the aid workers were not carrying weapons and posed no threat to Israeli forces.

Five ambulances and a fire truck from the aid convoy were later found buried in a shallow mass grave along with their crushed vehicles. An excavator and bulldozers were also seen near the site, raising questions about the circumstances of the workers’ deaths.

The incident has drawn international condemnation and calls for an independent investigation into possible war crimes committed by Israeli forces.
