Vikings Hold Off Seahawks 27-24 in Thrilling Matchup

The Minnesota Vikings edged past the Seattle Seahawks 27-24 on Sunday, thanks to a clutch touchdown pass from quarterback Sam Darnold to wide receiver Justin Jefferson with just over three minutes left in the game. The victory marked the Vikings’ eighth straight win and kept them pace with Detroit for the top spot in the NFC.

Darnold connected with Jefferson in a well-covered situation, launching a deep ball that his receiver hauled in just short of the goal line with defenders closing in. The play sparked confidence among the Vikings, who had faced several late deficits throughout the season.

Jefferson finished with 10 catches for 148 yards and two touchdowns, helping O’Connell become the first Vikings coach to achieve multiple 13-win seasons. Darnold threw for over 200 yards for the 10th time this season and more than 100 quarterback rating points for the 12th time.

The Seahawks struggled after Smith’s third touchdown pass, with Myers missing a 60-yard field goal attempt and Jackson picking off Smith with seconds left to seal the win. The loss marked two straight setbacks for Seattle, falling behind Los Angeles Rams in the NFC West.

The Vikings improved to 8-1 in one-score games this season, while the Seahawks fell to 8-7. Minnesota will host Green Bay next Sunday, while Seattle heads to Chicago on Thursday.
