The Minnesota Vikings are heading back to the NFC Playoffs for the 32nd time in franchise history, with a 11-2 record securing their spot regardless of the outcome of their final four games.
The Vikings’ playoff berth was clinched after the Green Bay Packers defeated the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday Night Football. The team is now preparing to host the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football as Week 15 comes to a close.
Minnesota’s playoff push marks the second time under Head Coach Kevin O’Connell that the team has secured a postseason spot in three seasons. In 2022, the Vikings won their division but were edged out for the top seed by the San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles.
The Lions currently lead the NFC in terms of record, with a 12-2 mark, while the Eagles are close behind with a 12-2 record as well. However, Detroit holds tiebreakers over both teams due to their earlier 11-game winning streak.
The Vikings have a good chance of securing the NFC North division title if they win out their remaining games, which would also put them in contention for the top seed in the playoffs. The team will face off against the Eagles and Commanders next week, with Philadelphia holding a three-game lead over Washington in the NFC East standings.
Fans can now purchase playoff tickets for potential Wild Card and Divisional home games at U.S. Bank Stadium, although dates and times are yet to be confirmed.
